U.S. Embassy EducationUSA Scholars Program (ESP)

The EducationUSA Office in the Public Affairs Section of the United States Embassy, seeks to identify and recruit 30 Batswana students who scored B+ and above in the 2021 IGCSE, BGCSE, A-Levels and IB students to join the U.S. Embassy EducationUSA Scholars Program (ESP). Please note THIS IS NOT A SCHOLARSHIP.
EducationUSA guides talented and determined students through the admissions process for colleges and universities in the United States. Selected students will attend regular seminars that will assist them throughout the application process. Students will work with our educational advising staff throughout 2021 to apply for admission and financial assistance to begin study in the United States in August 2021.
Students should be prepared to pay for the costs of the university application process, which may include but is not limited to: registration fees for required SAT and TOEFL examinations; college application fees; and visa fees. Students admitted to the EducationUSA Scholars Program must be prepared to dedicate their time and energy to the program. The ideal candidates MUST demonstrate:
  • A strong desire to study in the U.S.
  • A strong and competitive academic record
  • Evidence of leadership
  • Evidence of service to community
  • Outstanding character in and outside school
NOTE: ACCEPTANCE INTO THIS PROGRAM DOES NOT GUARANTEE ADMISSION OR FINANCIAL AID TO STUDY IN THE UNITED STATES.

Application Deadline: February 28, 2021. 

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted in late March or early April. Those applicants who have not received responses by April 5, 2021 should consider their application unsuccessful.
