The U.S. Embassy announces the competition for the Fulbright Foreign Student Fellowship Program for the 2022-23 academic year. Purpose and Institutional Focus: The program is designed to strengthen local institutions, through supporting the acquisition of Master’s degrees in the United States.
Fields of Study: The Fellowship Program sponsors study in the following fields: environmental science; information technology; mass communications – journalism, media studies, public relations; agriculture/food science; business – finance or accounting; education; public policy on youth development; gender studies; public health; and hospitality and tourism.
Financial Benefit: Financial awards cover full funding for a maximum of two years of study at an U.S. university. Grants include university tuition and fees, maintenance allowance, health insurance, books and supplies, and course-required field trips. Fellows or their employers may have to share costs by paying the airfare.
Eligibility Requirements: Botswana citizens between the ages of 25 and 40; outstanding academic record; high level of English proficiency; holder of an undergraduate (Bachelor’s) degree; outstanding leadership skills; have a passion for civic engagement or public service; well prepared to study for Master’s degree in his/her current field or a related field; affiliated with or committed to working in Botswana upon completion of studies in the U.S.; and has the endorsement of a home institution. Preference will be given to candidates who have not studied in the United States.
Application Requirements: A complete application includes: a signed application form, scanned transcripts of previous study, scanned officially certified degree certificates, at least two academic and two professional references, and an essay written by the applicant. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
